About Acting Buffet

May 18, 2011 in Acting Buffet - one comment

Beginning actors need very specific training and information – particularly beginning actors in LA. Who are we kidding? Y’all didn’t come out here to do Shakespeare in the Park, right? You wanna do TV and film! So, it’s not the best idea to start out in a classical theatre class in which you spend months doing the same scenes from Anton Chekhov and Tennessee Williams over and over. And over. Maybe you should learn how to ACT before you throw yourself into a cold reading class (once you know how to ACT you’ll already know how to and you won’t even NEED the class!). Is it possible that jumping right into a two-year training program in which you don’t even get to act for the first year ISN’T the best move right outta the gate?

Maaaybe.

All actors need to know how to act and move and speak on set, but actors in LA also need to understand how to act and move and speak within The Business. And how to survive it. Right away. And to be perfectly honest? You need to find out if you reeeaaalllly and truly wanna DO this acting thing to begin with. Right?

The Acting Buffet is designed to help you figure all of that out. We give you exactly what you need at the very beginning of your actor training – no more, no less. For descriptions of all the classes included in the Buffet, http://www.leslykahn.com/blog/the-acting-buffet-3/.

We leave no stone unturned.

By the end of the Acting Buffet you will know where to go, what to do and how to conduct your acting career – with confidence.
