The Setting of the Sails
“The same wind blows on us all; the winds of disaster, opportunity and change. Therefore, it is not the blowing of the wind, but the setting of the sails that will determine our direction in life.” ~ Jim Rohn.
Let It Go
“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond winning.” – Lao Tzu
Aim High
“The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we hit it.” -Michelangelo
Into the Ocean
“Either you decide to stay in the shallow end of the pool or you go out in the ocean.” ~ Christopher Reeve
Great Aim
“All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim, have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible.” – Orison Swett Marden
Not the Victory but the Action
” Not the victory but the action; not the goal but the game; in the deed the glory.” (Anon)
Right? It’s not about getting it right; it’s more about doing it over and over and going through the process, and eventually (not if, but) when you get it, the whole journey will have been fun, and you’ll have had a great time learning it. And then, of course, there’s always more to learn, so again: just enjoy the process.
Also, this: “Imagine a world where your every move matters. Welcome to that world.” (Morse) Not just our world, but acting, too. EVERYTHING you do, especially on film, can be seen, so there better be a cohesive thought behind it. People are watching you LIVE as an actor, so LIVE with every move; and you do that by thinking.
Not the Victory but the Action; Not the Goal but the Game; In the Deed the Glory
- Amy V.
Thoughts of Excellence
“Excellence is not a destination we reach, but is an unending process of constant improvement. Those who pursue Excellence aren’t in direct competition with others, for they measure themselves against their own accomplishments. Excellence is deliberate, not an accident that we stumble upon. It is about asking of ourselves more than others do; it is about harboring thoughts of excellence all the time! “~ John Ramsey
